Monash researchers receive prestigious award

Monash researchers receive prestigious award.

Associate Professor Dr Wu Ta Yeong and Associate Professor Dr Chai Siang Piao from the School of Engineering were recently awarded the 2017 Malaysia’s Research Star Award. Dr Wu received an award in the Frontier Researcher category while Dr Chai was the only recipient of the Young Researcher award. Both academics were the only award recipients from a private and international university.

“I’m greatly honoured to have received the award and hope that my achievements will serve as a motivation for other young researchers at Monash Malaysia to work on high quality and high impact research,” said Dr Chai. He also expressed his appreciation to Monash Malaysia and the School of Engineering for being supportive of his research work and for providing a good research environment to excel.

The awards were given to acknowledge Malaysian researchers for their success in publishing high impact articles and receiving the highest publication citations in various research fields derived from the Web of Science (from Clarivate Analytics) and Scopus (from Elsevier) database.
